Need some help..
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:42:37 PM »
I have tried many different POS software but can't figure out how to do what I want, or if it is even possible with the software..

Basically, it is being used in a store.. there are 8 different candy bars you can buy, if you buy 1 bar, it is $1.30, but if you buy any 2 bars, they would be $1.79..

How do you set it up so if you scan 1 bar it registers @ $1.30 but 2 bars @ $1.79 ..

I can make it if you buy 2 of the same bar, but I need to mix and match so they can buy Bar1 and Bar2, Bar1 and Bar5, bar2 and bar1 etc..

I know it is possible, maybe I just don't know what I am looking for?

Any help would be great guys!

Matrix items would not solve this issue. Most POS systems can do as you said by charging less for two of the same item. When you try and apply the same discount scheme across multiple items is when you run into problems. We have created a mix and match add on to Microsoft Dynamics RMS that will allow you to do this. Please feel free to give me a call and I can go over it with you.

I really don't know what you need exactly but I found that Polar POS to be very good point of sale software for me.

At my shop I use a pos software called trademeters pos. it allows me to make any type of deals or combos and group any type and number of items with custom prices. I then package the items together and give them a custom barcode, so that when I scan that with barcode reader, it inserts that deal correctly. You can get full info on that pos from their site www.trademeters.com

So far, the closest thing I can find is pcAmerica Cash Register express... it has everything I need, even 'mix-n-match pricing' .. but it doesn't have lottery pay out, so I can't use it as I can't pay out winnings from lottery tickets... anyone have any ideas?

Yes, RMS! It will handle lottery payouts. We have done this for numerous clients.

Sorry but matrix pricing wont solve this. Matrix is an inventory management system commonly used in  the fashion industry. Keep it simple !!you will need conditional pricing( If buy 1 one price, if more than 1 different price...etc). The POS system has to be very flexible to allow this. You should visit www.cizaro.com and schedule a free demo. They have very good in-house developers that will solve this issue in a minute.
