Retail Store POS Software Advice / Re: PC America software
« Last post by Softnsave on June 07, 2017, 12:56:02 PM »
PC America was purchased by Heartland and although the support is much better than it was the cost has gone up dramatically. Unfortunately is have seen little improvement in the software. I was told they would be adding new features but am losing hope with them.
You can find some info at www.softnsave.com
We just launched the world's first POS called Shoptimality which uses AI to help small brick and mortar retailers. It is also completely free. We've been working really hard on it for the last year and a half and we would greatly appreciate if the POSforum community could review our solution and give us some feedback.

Namely, artificial intelligence technology usage in retail has been in the upswing over the last few years however, it was only accessible to the large retail chains due to high pricing and non-existent generic solutions. Main motivation behind Shoptimality is to change that and to bring retail AI technology to small brick and mortar retailers.

Shoptimality AI can help retail businesses in multiple ways.

In regards to customers, Shoptimality AI is capable of issuing completely personalized offers on receipts during purchases in store. Our AI does this by analyzing items in the current basket and deciding on the items a given customer would most likely need in the follow up purchase.

In addition, Shoptimality POS also allows your customers to use loyalty cards and when they do so, our AI is capable of generating and sending personalized offers via e-mail to your customer at scale, based on their interests which are gathered during purchases. This helps retailers to bring their customers back in store.

Also, it is capable of analyzing general patterns in your overall customer behavior and discover what items are your customers most likely to buy together. Based on this, it advises you on what items to put next to each other in store and what items to run promotions and when so you can maximize customer satisfaction and get them to spend more.

For the other things, Shoptimality AI is also capable of predicting stockouts, predicting rising or falling future demand for particualr products and predicting your store revenue, that is exactly how mush is expected to be generated in the future from every single one of the products you have in an inventory.

It is a hybrid cloud and in-store solution. Namely, the POS register is an Android application which integrates with various peripherals such as credit card readers, barcode readers and thermal receipt printers. However, the app synchronizes with the cloud so you, as a store owner, can use our website to run analytics and view all the sales related data in near-real time from wherever you are. This architecture also enables your registers to operate in the offline mode for the situations when there's no internet connectivity. You can set up as many register and stores as you want from within the single web interface.

Again, this is completely free so feel free to take a look, sign up, try it out. We would really appreciate any kind of feedback from you, whether it's good or bad ;)

To check it out, you can visit our web site at http://www.shoptimality.com/
Aloha POS Support / Single Ticket Number for One Restaurant
« Last post by juan.valbuena on May 31, 2017, 10:23:01 AM »
Hello everyone,

First of all thank you for your help. I have a very big issue in my restaurant with the POS Aloha. Right now I have 3 POS in the restaurant with Aloha, but each POS has their own ticket number serie. I need to configure the 3 POS because I need only one continue serie for the 3 POS (like a continue number invoice). I put an example:

- For example the POS number 1, start in the ticket number 1000, and if i make 100 tickets, my last ticket will be the 1100.
- In the POS number 2, start in the ticket number 2000, and if i make 100 tickets, my last ticket will be the 2100.
- In the POS number 2, start in the ticket number 3000, and if i make 100 tickets, my last ticket will be the 3100.

So i have made 300 tickets but the numbers are not in a continues serie (i need this number to control the invoice with the government). So what i need, in this example, if i have 300 tickets, the first number needs to be the 1000, and the final one will be the 1300, and the first ticket in the next day will be the 1301.

Please, i need help with this because i havent got information about how to do it in Aloha.

Thank you everyone and sorry for my english if you don't understand anything.

Thank you!

Did you ever get an answer to this issue? If not I would be happy to help. I'm a POS consultant with 12 years experience (10 with Micros, and 2 as an independent). It sounds like a you have an issue with your business date. Please feel free to email me on info@barbarossapos.com

I'm trying to run a stored procedure on a Sybase database in Micros RES 3700 in a PHP file using PDO and dblib as the driver. I can call a procedure with no parameters with no problems using something like:

call custom.show_clocked_in_employees

This works perfectly. However, if the procedure takes parameters, I get an error. So if I have a procedure like this that takes 2 parameters:

create procedure

custom.custom_sp_R_cons_rvc_time_prd_ttls(in business_date_start timestamp,in business_date_end timestamp)

result(start_business_date timestamp,end_business_date timestamp,store_number OBJ_NUM,store_id SEQ_NUM,...)

declare@start_business_date timestamp;

declare@end_business_date timestamp;

I've tried calling it these ways:

call custom.custom_sp_R_cons_rvc_time_prd_ttls('2017-05-02','2017-05-02')

call custom.custom_sp_R_cons_rvc_time_prd_ttls('2017-05-02 00:00:00.000000','2017-05-02 00:00:00.000000')

exec custom.custom_sp_R_cons_rvc_time_prd_ttls('2017-05-02','2017-05-02')

exec custom.custom_sp_R_cons_rvc_time_prd_ttls '2017-05-02','2017-05-02'

No matter what I do, I get an error like:

this error:

  • => HY000
  • [1]=>13638

    [2]=> SQL Anywhere Error -188:Not enough values for host variables [13638](severity 16)[(null)]

    [2]=> SQL Anywhere Error -131: Syntax error near '2017-05-02' on line 1[102](severity 15)[(null)]

    If I run this procedure in a SQL client like RazorSQL using:

    call custom.custom_sp_R_cons_rvc_time_prd_ttls('2017-05-02','2017-05-02')

    it works perfectly, so PDO/PHP/? appears to not be sending the data to the client correctly. What is the syntax to use to call a Sybase procedure with parameters using PDO?

    EDIT: The exact way I'm trying to call it is like this:

    $dbh = new PDO('dblib:host=<host_ip>',$user,$password,null);

    $stmt =$dbh->prepare('call custom.custom_sp_R_cons_rvc_time_prd_ttls(:start_date, :end_date)');

    $new_params = array(':start_date'=>'2017-05-02',':end_date'=>'2017-05-02');

Thanks in advance for any help you kind folks can give me!

So, I'll outline the problem I'm having, then add my guesses about what is actually causing my error.

During our standard till closing procedure, the cashier prints out a copy of the daily employee balance from the function screen of the POS till. However, for the past couple of days, it is combining the sales from the previous day and the current one. For example, at the top of the printout is says it's printing out the balance from 5/21/17 - 5/22/17.

So, every day, we have had to manually "end the day", so that the paperwork is correct. I believe it is an auto sequencing error that is not ending the shift at the end of the day, but I'm not sure how to fix it and am loath to try something and end up with two problems to fix, instead of just the first one. Do you think that a simple "reboot all" would fix the issue? or would manually resetting the auto sequence for when to "end the day" be a better bet?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Micros POS Support / Micros SIM file
« Last post by caje143 on May 08, 2017, 12:01:44 AM »

I am curious to know the language used to write the SIM file in MICROS.
Can this be done with anyone who knows just the basics of programming?

Is there a syntax or a format specific to these SIM files that we need to follow? any guide would be appreciated. :)
