Micros e7 won't let me delete old employees
« on: April 19, 2011, 05:58:00 PM »
I recently took over as GM of a restaurant using a Micros e7, the customer support contract has expired and I know only the basics of running the system.  The biggest problem I have at the moment is that it won't allow me to delete employees that no longer work here.  It says that employees with time clock detail cannot be deleted.  So I deleted old time clock details, still can't delete the employees, everytime I try and do anything with my employees I am having to weed through people who are no longer here.  Can someone please help???????

What is the error message when you trying to delete the employee after you had removed the time clock details? :)

I get the same error message that employees with time clock detail cannot be deleted even though there is nothing there for that employee.  I had to wait over 30 days after the last clock in date for the system to even allow me to delete the time clock information.

Where are you going thru?  Manager procedures won't do it, but you can delete from the configurator screen.  Go to config, then upper left tab for pulldown (mine is usually on "Menu") click on pull down button and scroll down to "employees".  Highlight.  Under employees category, I have front of house, back of house, etc. set up as my various empoyee groups/categories.  This is also where you set up new employees info.  You should be able to highlight empl name, then go to the middle top menu bar that gives you choices of "make copy of empl", etc.  There is a choice here to delete record.  Hope this works.  If you have too recent of activity and it won't allow removal, then make a new category for empl named "terminated"  Move any/all old empl records you don't need or want to keep into that category.  Mine was filled with old records so I was actually able to delete the whole category and got rid of the whole list at once.  Hope this is helpful.  I have floundered around and just learned that way.  Just be careful what you delete!!! It doesn;t forgive and customer service in our area is expensive and not very pleasant either.  Good luck!
