Hello All
« on: November 23, 2011, 08:11:09 PM »
I came across this forum browsing the interwebs, and I am very glad that I did! I have had around 4 years of experience in working with Quicksell 2000 at my current job -- a liquor store.

We have recently ordered new computers with different POS software (which imho is not as good as QS2K will ever be). I would like to be able to hook up the new computers with Quicksell of course, but the new ones are rigged with no parallel or serial ports, only all USB and I tried doing the hardware installation on the new computers but I had no luck setting it up. The program just doesn't read the USB ports.

Hopefully, in due time, I hope to come about to figuring out how to do everything to make sure our new POS terminals run Quicksell. It is one of the best POS systems on the market (outdated and unsupported or not).  ;)

I hope to provide as much help as possible to anyone here who needs it. It's a shame that such an amazing piece of software is rarely in use anymore!

Thank you for the read, and hello to you all! :)

Hello Henny!

Happy Thanksgiving to you! I was hoping maybe you'd be able to help me out with some QS2K usb issues.

Of course, we can worry about this after the holidays.  8)

Welcome kamilux,
I just did the same with two computers. There working great for over 4 months now. I used a usb to serial adapter and bought Motherboards that had Parallel printer ports so I did not have to deal with that.
Maybe try some different parallel cards and let us now how it goes?  ;)
