FIRMS ( Lecere Corporation)
« on: November 03, 2010, 05:01:58 PM »
I created a thread (Does anyone Have an opinion about FIRMS, of Lecere?) about a new integrated POS software  with all the tools needed to manage restaurants. This software is based on the technology of cloud computing. I have received very positive feedback from friends and other people. This tool is very recent: it has been rolled out just last week. It seems that there are already many restaurants which already use or will use FIRMS. But I continue with my desire to know the views of users of FIRMS. If anyone familiar with this software, I am grateful to him discuss his views here. The company is called "Lecere" and the website is: www.lecere.com
I believe that cloud computing is very interesting. I've read a comment from someone who says about this type of software: looks like a cool app you made... . Usually there are a couple main reasons why companies may outsource their cloud computing needs. First is cost savings- to build out a support staff as well as the physical infrastructure for even a lightweight cloud computing environment necessities takes quite an investment. Many vendors... have already made this investment. The second reason to consider using a cloud vendor is security, especially when we’re talking data storage. At these facilities, there are guards, palm scanners, secure card-key access, 24/7 surveillance, as well as comprehensive access controls put in place for unexpected happenings.
I've heard that with this type of product, I do not need to buy anti-virus

Cloud computing is coming to the restaurant world.
But there are many things to look out for.
Whose data is it?
Who can access it?
What happens when there is a disconnect to the cloud?

You will still need anti-virus. It is a necessity of computing these days.
You should also have a business grade security appliance configured.

Most restaurants sell and redeem gift cards and credit cards over internet based connections.
PCI-DSS regulations mandate desktop anti-virus for any operating system that is prone to viruses.
For the cost of securing your system properly, do not skimp on firewalls and anti-virus programs.

There will be cost savings for SaaS systems - anti-virus is not it.

Thank You, microsmike.

A new today:

Lecere Announces Trial (Demo) Version of FIRMS

Lecere Corporation (Pink Sheets:LCRE) announced today that potential customers can now register for FIRMS on a trial basis on the company's website at www.lecere.com. The trial version of the software is limited to 25 customer tickets and disallows printing to a physical printer.

As before, interested new customers click on "GET STARTED NOW!" at www.lecere.com. Potential new customers who wish only to "kick the tires" on FIRMS can demo a pre-configured restaurant in their own "sandbox" and use the FIRMS software free of any charges. There is nothing to buy, and no credit card is required.

Jim Morris, CEO of Lecere, said, "We are excited to roll out the trial (demo) version of FIRMS to a wide audience. This allows new customers to 'try before they buy' and become thoroughly familiar with FIRMS and its configuration prior to signing up for the full version of FIRMS."
