POS Development resources
« on: June 15, 2010, 03:03:48 PM »
First of all, Hello posforum!

As you can see I am a new member, and I am also pretty new to POS tech as well. I am looking to develop a module for existing POS systems (such as micros), or a stand-alone application if necessary. I have spent hours on google trying to come up with some information on how to interface with these systems, or even someone with experience in this area, to no avail. So here I am. Does anyone think they can get me pointed in the right direction?

Randy

Are you looking to develope a new software to run on current POS hardware? Or are you looking to enhance an existing product?

Thanks for the reply, Henny.

I am looking to enhance an existing product. Micros seems to be one of the more popular solutions out there, so this is where I would like to start.

If you are so motivated then there are several areas where you can contribute.

1.Open source pos systems like phppos.

2.Develop third party tools to migrate data from disparate pos systems.

PM me and I will discuss with you exactly what you are looking to do and let you know in general terms
how you go about doing that in Micros land.
