Micros e7 sync data with QuickBooks
« on: June 07, 2010, 10:11:04 PM »
I have Micros e7 POS for our restaurant. I want to download daily sales from POS and transfer data to QuickBooks electronically. Tired of printing reports from Micros and having to enter them manually into QB's. Does anyone know how to go about this? :-\

Is there any feature in the E7 which allows you to export the relevant data, especially the one that you want , in XML,excel or some other format?

There are many reports you can export.  I usually set this up when I install a site.

Go to "reports" & select the report you want to run, date ranges, etc...then press export.  It places the report in the cf\micros\e7\dbexports folder on the workstation.  Also, in the same folder on your PC (if you have one)...but location will vary based on your Operating System.

Reports can also be exported & sent automatically, during the end-of-day, to a ftp location for your accountant to "pick up"  (version 2.6 or higher)

Also, you can make a shortcut (autosequence) with all of your favorite reports & press one button & export them to your usb drive.  I would recommend knowing which reports, date ranges, item ranges, etc...that you want & calling your micros dealer & shell out the money for about one hour of programming.  He/she could also assist with any other small issues you may have while you have them there.  It can be done & it's fairly easy.  This is probably the best solution for you.

You will need to choose whether you want tab or comma delimited & .txt or .csv extensions under the "restaurant" form in configurator.

Rebecca,

If you are still looking for a way to interface your micros e7 daily sales to QuickBooks (desktop or online) electronically take a look at www.micros.ws. We have accounting and payroll interfaces to most point of sale systems.
