Anti virus + Quickbooks

I'm new to this group and to Aloha so anything that you can share would be very much appreciated.

It is my understanding that the anti-virus software installed with Aloha is AVG, while this is a good product it comes with a price. Another good product is the Microsoft Security Essentials which is free. Does anyone know what the issue is that requires the use of AVG?

The vendor I'm dealing with is recommending that I use the Aloha TransManager as an interface to QuickBooks, this product costs $1200 and if I want the payroll interface it is an additional $800. This is a lot of money to spend without knowing a whole lot about the product. Does anyone have any experience with these products or any other similar products?
