Legend Information Systems POS software
« on: March 02, 2010, 05:16:08 PM »
I've been trying to help a local retail store to transfer their POS system from an antiquated computer to a modern one. They do not have copies of the original installation software so this is rather difficult because one can't just copy over the program directory under windows to the new computer. They do however have all documentation of the original purchase. The POS system was made by (www.legendware.com) and is called Legend Information Systems. They wish to continue to use this POS system. The company that made the software appears to be out of business at this point.

Any ideas how I can get hold of a copy of this software?

Couple questions, how old IS this software, what was the OS, and what version where they running?

Legend was bought by Conexion. David Merrill, the COO of Conexion, http://www.conexionllc.com/aboutus/management.html, was the owner of Legend. That's the company that would likely own the code, so if it's possible to get install media for older versions, that's the company that would most likely be able to provide it.

(I recognize that this is an old post and likely this project has long since completed, one way or the other, but am posting the info in case someone else runs into the issue at a future date).
