RMS Auth.net Middleware Integration
« on: December 17, 2009, 11:30:58 AM »
Hello-

I am the software implementation specialist for an ISO. Our company supplies credit card processing services to merchants using many different Point Of Sale applications, and RMS is presenting a challenge for us.  We board the POS accounts on First Data, and they require that a middleware such as PC Charge, IC Verify et. al. be used in conjunction with RMS.  This presents a problem, because the merchants using RMS must purchase this middleware to process through us, they generally decline.  I am wondering if Auth.net can be used as a middleware with RMS.  This would be a much quicker and cost effective solution.  Microsoft wasted 4 hours of my time telling me they can't answer my question-please help.

Thanks in advance,

Todd

Auth.net doesn't work as a middleware to my knowledge.  We tried setting this up with a client and ran into a lot of dead ends.

You could set them up via TSYS or if you can provide RMS with a gateway that acts like TSYS's gateway RMS can be made to work.  A great example of this is Heartland Payment Systems back end works with RMS (even though Microsoft doesn't endorse it) - because it acts the same way TSYS does so all you have to do it point RMS at Heartland's servers.  Mercury Payments works exactly the same way.

Is that something you're able to accomplish?

This is a interesting thread i would be watching closely. Yeah i agree Auth.net is not a middleware program meant for integration.
