nextpos help!
« on: September 27, 2009, 06:20:37 PM »
Hello All,

I'm hoping someone would be able to help me out. I've had Nextpos for my restaurant for the last 4 years and I have loved it.
My dilemma is , that I'm selling my business and the buyer wants me to clear out all the old records on the pos , meaning sales records and receipts and such. All he wants to stay is the menu items and possibly delivery customers info!
Is this even possible? If not , what am I able to erase exactly?
Thank you!

I am trying to remember, but there definatly is a way. I thought there was a data deletion feature in the backend. If not, contact someone at Nextpos and see if they can manually delete the data for you if you email them a copy of your DB.

I think you have to do it manually by using SQL queries so I think better call any POS professional.

Hello all and thank you so much for your speedy replies!!
I was actually able to delete all the records and keep all menu items and such, as if I was in training mode the past four years.
It was quite easy and I actually found the way in the manual.
If anyone out there needs this information, just let me know and I'll be happy to share it.

Thank you again!

I am sure you could have done it easily because technically the records you wanted to delete were 'dependent' records of sorts where as 'master' records are to be kept intact.
